One of us lives on the east coast. One of us lives on the west.

One of us lives in a rural community. One of us lives in a city.

Both of us wander. Both of us witness. Both of us write.

This is a record of what we find.

Haiku for the Coldest Day of the Year (thus far!)

Minus twelve today
Chickens won't budge from the coop
I want to roost too

Minus twelve today
Icicle touching the ground
From our second floor

Minus twelve today
Can see my smoky breath puffs
Inside of the house

Minus twelve today
But I'm sitting with Kara
And I feel cozy

Minus twelve today
This third day of the New Year
Here's to warmth and hope

With gratitude, yes
Happy New Year to you all
Lots of good care, Tam
